Brief

Today's housing market is challenging to enter, and mobility is deficient. At the same time, many older people live in large houses with unused space. Vakansa wanted us to create a digital platform that could help seniors take advantage of that space and, at the same time, help people find safe housing.

Branding

We wanted to create a simple and powerful brand identity that represented the actual core value of the service - familiar, safe, and helpful. The wavy shapes, illustrations, and icons became the core of our graphic expression throughout the identity.

Result

The main priority of the project was to create an easily accessible form with the end-user in focus. We added UX principles such as feedback in all steps and avoided unnecessary features. All to make it easier for the elderly to use the platform and open doors to new housing opportunities.

Learnings

I had preconceived notions that working toward an older target group meant that things had to be simplified and that trends were unimportant. However, after compiling the results of our user testing, it was clear that seniors, just like everyone else, want a visually appealing website that feels up to date. The realization of "don't assume you know your user" was a great learning experience in this project.
